Nutrition

Overweight and obesity in children has become a major national health issue.  In recognition of this, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) released a "Prevention of Pediatric Overweight and Obesity" policy statement in August 2003.  AAP emphasizes prevention and suggestions that the best approach to preventing overweight and obesity is to take a look at nutrition, including low-fat dairy options, and physical activity.  Click here for practical tips sheet for parents.
